Social Activities
As we have seen since last October, when the bowling season finished for the season, the Social Activities side has been a success, with many people whiling away their Thursday afternoons playing board games, cards, beetle & snowman drive, and just recently, a dominoes tournament.
The Social side will be taking a break from Thursday 10th April 2008 until the close of the bowling season sometime during October, date to be announced later in the season.
Having said that, we hope to run one or two social events such as trips out, following the successful visit to Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station on the 27th March (photo and words to come shortly).
I should like to thank all those that have helped run the afternoon periods; Kath Brown, Pauline Jenkins, David Hinds and more recently, Pat Perry, and not forgetting Mary. And of course, thanks to all that came up that have made it a success.
We will shortly announce the results and subsequent winner of the Dominoes Tournament for 2008 and hope to run a longer one next 'season'. We are also looking to introduce new activities next year, so keep an eye open ont he notice board, which you'll need to do anyway for details of any trips that may come up.
