Colour Laser Printer - Konica Minolta 2430DL

Konica Minolta 2430DL PrinterInitial impressions were not good, but as time has gone by and the little hiccups have been overcome then I have to say it's a damn good printer for the price!  Advice here is to shop around for the best price, even do a search on the web for that model number.

The printer was reasonably well packed, although someone had opened a 'flap' in the top side of the box and whether that was to insert an updated drivers disk, I'm not sure as I had two of these, one sealed within the usual plastic bag and another floating in the compartment which did have a later date.  Again my advice would be to go to the manufacturer's web site and download latest drivers.

Not too impressed with either the documentation nor the initial print quality, but latter was due to a lever being set for envelopes rather than pages.  If only a printed manual had been provided.....    The blacks were smudging along with the colours and also getting 'holes' of no colour at all.  This was resolved when the guy on the phone asked which position the lever was in and then directed me to reposition it.

With there being no printed manual, when one comes to configure an IP address in order to use the printer on a network, as indeed I am, then it's a case of wading throught the 'on disk' manual (poor I feel) or phone the Help desk, who incidentally were helpful, although not until I'd gone through the registration procedure.

One other thing worth noting is the rather loud clunking noises when it's switched on and then again when it goes into sleep mode!  I have seen this same comment in another write up I read on the same printer.

As of now I can recommend this printer with one major reservation.  It needs a manual or at least certain points being documented in a Quick Setup guide!

Konica-Minolta!  Please take note!  Otherwise a good little machine!

Had a printed manual been supplied then maybe it would have been easier to resolve some of these problems earlier and with less frustrations, but at least the Customer Support team are on the ball!  Maybe others are experiencing similar problems!!
